!SMART BUILDER!

SmartBuilder is an authoring tool that attempts and largely succeeds in balancing ease of use with power. As such, it is not as easy to use as PowerPoint and not as powerful as Flash, but it also is more powerful than PowerPoint by far and is much easier to learn than Flash is. That’s the sign of a tool that is good for the majority of those who will use it. Most users are instructional designers or subject matter experts and are not programmers. 

Like many authoring tools, SmartBuilder publishes to a standard Flash SWF format, so learners can run the published lessons in almost any browser. Unlike many authoring tools, the authoring environment is online and runs off a server. 

we were assign to be in a group of 3 or 4 to do this courseware project. At first i have a very hard time learning but as time goes by,i manage to do it and my team and i manage to settle up this project on time.

We decide to do a topic about the galaxies as i find out it is fun and even im excited about galaxies.

CANVA

This time we were ask to do an infographic using  CANVA ! to be honest im used to using canva as before this i love to create logo's  and many more. CANVA is much more easier to use. Its free, have many design that we can use. 

so here is my infographic that i have made in class that day. Its is about MAMMALs. I love animals so i decide to do something about animals.

POWTOON is actually fun but its hard to learn also. at first its kinda difficult to use it but as madam Azidatun teach us more and more its become quite easy.

you can unlish your creativenessss and let out you inner childhood ideas.

Advantages

- It is user-friendly with all the animations, characters, objects and layout have been prepared.

- It is free

- Create beautiful, colourful and amazing presentation

- Easy to add videos 

Disadvantages

- Takes time to learn to use it

- Limited styles with free plan

- Since it is online software, it cannot be used if  the connection is not stable

- It is quite slow in editing text

Podcast

Unfortunately, i was absence during this class due to some issues. But no worries I still managed to learn a thing or two (or more)regarding this topic from my friends. what are friends are for right?

A “podcast” is sort of difficult to explain because there really isn’t anything else like it — but rather, many things that are kind of like it.

A good starting point, is to think of a podcast as “Internet Radio On-Demand.” It’s similar in that you can usually listen to it on your computer — but it’s more than that. [However, and not to confuse the issue, podcasting isn’t confined to just audio but can be video as well].It can be downloaded and uploaded to you tube and another medium as well. Not only that, you yourself can record your voice and upload it anywhere.

No one, I MEAN NO ONE! can judge or criticize you because it is your right your imagination, your creativity. so, you can do whatever you want with the podcast as long as it's in a good way.

Thats is all i can say about this topic.

Computer Mediated Communication (CMC) & ESL

ALRIDIIYYYY THANNNN, LETS START!

This week we learned about Computer Mediated Communication and ESL. Computer Mediated Communication (CMC) is any form of communication or interaction between two or more people by separate computers through network of communication. It is like the social media that we are using such as :-

Computer mediated communication is divided into synchronous and asynchronous. In synchronous communication, all participants are online simultaneously( instant reply). In asynchronous communication, there are time constraints on communication messages and responses, as with emails.

However it is not recommended to learn through video conferencing or e-tutoring because students need a learning environment is very important such as when learning is the classroom.

Collaborative Learning

Collaborative learning is an educational approach that involves groups of learners working together to solve a problem, complete a task, or create a product using a computer. this can be the place where students can increase their problem-solving skills by using google doc or google drive.

There are many disadvantages of using CMC in learning. For example, some of the students' self-esteem could be higher as they will not have to speak in front of other students. Besides that, not everyone is capable to own a computer and not all area have a great internet connection. Despite all the bads about CMC learning, in my opinion, CMC learning can be very beneficial but still learning in a classroom is more interesting full with emotion and feelings.

EVOLUTION OF CALL

Before learning this topic I never realized that there is a change in the CALL world but now  I noticed a big difference between the CALL program back then and now. It's actually the same thing but in different form.Back then before it's only focusing on transferring the content from the textbook itself into audio form.

PHASES

Behavioristic CALL

As of this phase, I think that it helps students to memorize and the method used in this phase is seen as the repetition and as we all know that by repeating, we can remember things easily.

Communicative CALL

This phase focused more on students performance.  This learning can be interesting and fun and due to that students will focus more on the learning itself.

 Integrative CALL

This is the CALL program that we used this day. This program is basically the integration of real world material into CALL that can make students have a better scope in the learning process.

So as for today i would like to talk about a new topic that i just learned which is,  CALL and SEARCH ENGINE.

CALL which stands for Computer Assisted Language Learning

Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) may be defined as the search for and study of applications of the computer in language teaching and learning or a very helpful medium in language learning and it is call the generic software.

Types of CALL Programs

 CALL programs/materials include 

- CALL-specific software: applications designed to develop and facilitate language learning, such as CD-ROMs, web-based interactive language learning exercises/quizzes 

- Generic software: applications designed for general purposes, such as word-processors (Word),  presentation software (PowerPoint, see an e-book made by students and spreadsheet (Excel), that can be used to support language learning 

- Web-based learning programs: online dictionaries, online encyclopedias, , news/magazine sites, e-texts, web-quests, web publishing, blog, wiki, etc.

- Computer-mediated communication (CMC) programs: synchronous - online chat(Messenger, Whatsapp (instant reply) asynchronous( delayed reply) - email, discussion forum, message board.

Blogs typically include features such as comments and links to increase user interactivity. Blogs are created using specific publishing software. Nowdays blog is use in learning also. Teachers nowadays encourage students to learn or gain information from some educational blog. 

There are many reasons why people use a blog, some of it is:-

🙌Hi everyone 🙌

It's my first time as a blogger here. I am not really use to it as i am not good with word and i ran out of idea fast 😝 so let me tell you something about myself. Was given the name Nurhashima Bt Ahmed Jesmi.  I was born  in Penang on 15th FEB 1994 and i love to swim 💦As for this blog i would be posting about many things about this course.
